Certified ADTA Teacher: Junior
I have been dancing since I was 2 years old and competing since I was 6! My competitive training began in Red Deer, Alberta at Make Your Mark Dance and continued at Dance Spectrum Inc in Calgary. I have trained in all studio styles including tap, ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop, acro, pointe and musical theater and have completed numerous ADAPT, RAD and Al Gilbert examinations. Additionally, I was a part of the PVA (Performance & Visual Arts) program at Central Memorial High School where I studied a wide variety of styles including Latin, vogue, West African, swing and more! It was through this program that I obtained my Dance Composition Diploma, and further developed my knowledge of choreography, body awareness, and the ‘B.A.S.T.E’ elements of dance composition.
Over the years I have had the opportunity to study under some incredible choreographers including Megan Lawson, Brian Foley, Katie Hanson, Tasha Lawson, Lisa La Touche and Christie Lee Manning, all of which have shared their passion for dance and love for creativity with me. I began student teaching at the age of 10, gaining well over 600 volunteer hours working directly with young dancers and helping them reach their goals. For the past 5 years I have spent, and continue to spend my time at numerous studios in both Calgary, AB and Victoria, BC where I am lucky enough to continue teaching and gaining experience working with youth who share my love of dance. As a teacher I have received both my Acrobatic Arts Module One and ADTA (Acro Dance Teacher Association) Premier certifications, and am thrilled to introduce these syllabi to studios in Victoria.
