Amanda is from Calgary, Alberta and has trained since a young age in styles such as ballet, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, musical theatre and Acro. Her students range from beginner to advanced acro dancers and have continued to receive top marks at competitions across Canada. As well, Amanda has won numerous choreography awards for her outstanding acro dance numbers. She has a passion for acro and has expertise teaching a multitude of acro tricks including limbering, tumbling, balances, partner tricks and contemporary acro. Amanda is not only an advanced level Acro instructor but is also fully certified with ADAPT (Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers).
Amanda is a Certified Athletic Therapist and has a bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education. She has an extensive understanding of injury prevention and rehabilitation and applies that knowledge in all of her acro and dance classes. She also utilizes her strength and flexibility knowledge by recognizing which exercises and stretches will be most beneficial to her students to help them progress safely and efficiently.
1. Acro Background: I was always that kid flipping around in my backyard and living room but didn’t formally start acro until I was 14 – I instantly fell in love with it. Since then, I have been teaching acro for 8 years and my passion continues to grow for it!
2. Personal Motto: “Live life in the now!” I try not to get caught up in the past or the future, rather just living in the present moment.
3. Hidden Talent: I can play the saxophone!
