So, how much Acro experience do I need to have before I can teach it in my studio?

Melissa Klassen thank you for sharing you knowledge and insights into building a successful Acro program. Before I started with the ADTA syllabus I was one of those teachers who was figuring things out on my own. I had thriving recreational and competitive Acro programs that were attracting a lot of students, but I knew I needed more. Implementing a syllabus has been extremely beneficial to myself, my students, and my studio & my director. Was it harder to get the “experienced” Acro dancers to change and implement new ideas? Yes, but they quickly saw the benefits and worked harder to get better results. This master class series of workshops is an excellent introduction for anyone looking to start a program or enhance their existing one. Thank you Melissa!

HI Melisaa, I don’t own or work at one studio, but many in the area. I am more of a free lancer and would love to add acro as one of things people can hire me for as there is no one in my area t(hat I know of) that is actually certified. Do you feel that it is not a good thing to not be in one concrete place when trying to start up your acro program?

Hi Rose – I think being the only freelance teacher in your area that offers acro is a GENIUS idea! You should double down on that, because they will all be looking to YOU for all of their acro needs. I know several freelance acro teachers who do this and they are all busy with no shortage of work! 🙂
