Desirae has been dancing since she could walk! She began her dance training at the age of four. She studied ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical and musical theatre.  Desirae has completed her Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Ballet exams from Grade One to Advanced 2,  her Canadian Dance Teachers Association (CDTA) Tap exams from Primary to Advanced and her Canadian Dance Teachers Association (CDTA) Jazz exams from Grade 1 to Advanced as well as her Grade Eight Al Gilbert Tap.

Desirae has completed the Associated Dance Arts for Professional Teachers (ADAPT) Teacher Training School 3 year program and is a certified ADAPT Tap and Jazz teacher. Desirae has spent extensive time substitute teaching and teaching exam preparation privates at various studios. She has taught ballet, tap, jazz, lyrical, musical theatre and hip hop to students from ages 4 to 18. Her teaching experience ranges from exam preparation privates, to exam classes, to unset classes in a variety of dance styles, to cleaning competition and recital choreography. Desirae took her CDTA Licentiate (Member) Tap Exam in June 2010 and received a mark of Merit. Desirae is a RAD Registered Teacher having completed the RAD Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies 2-year program in November 2015. Desirae completed her CDTA Licentiate (Member) Teacher Jazz Exam with a mark of Merit in June 2018.  Desirae is a Certified Junior ADTA Teacher and is currently working towards completing her Acro Dance Teachers Association (ADTA) Intermediate Teacher Certification. Desirae is a Certified Acro Dance Adjudicator through ADTA.

Desirae opened her dance studio, Epic Dance Complex, in November 2013. Her current student enrolment includes children from the age of 18 months to 11 years old – expanding the age and class offerings as the children get older year to year.  Desirae continues to participate in conventions – both locally and abroad – and looks for new opportunities to increase her knowledge as a dancer and teacher. Desirae is always looking for innovative teaching techniques and training methods to help her dancers improve their technical and emotional execution.
